Hello!
At MBARG Farms, we're a family rooted on the outskirts of the Kansas Flint Hills, trying to make a living at raising cattle, sheep, and our family to the best of our ability. Learning that the best things in life are often built slowly, with your hands, your family beside you, a deep love for the place you call home and the land that sustains you. After years of working in big agriculture, raising our family, and finding our way through seasons that haven't always been easy, we wanted to create something that brought together the things we love most.
Faith, family, farming, creativity, and the prairie we call home.
We are recreating our farm and sending a little piece of home out into the world. To you.
Why wool felting?
The first time I understood what wool could become, I wasn't the one holding the needle. At the time, it was my 8 year old neurodivergent son. He sat down with a felting needle, some wool, and began creating his own little picture story. As he worked, I watched something happen. His body relaxed, his mind slowed down, and the world around him became quieter. He was in his creative element and wasn't being asked to sit still or listen harder. One little piece of wool at a time, he was smiling and creating a piece of art. And I remember thinking...there is something here. As my son said, the wool is relaxing to work.
